The beginning of a new millennium is an appropriate time to look at ourselves and our customs on a biblical time-line, to see contemporary events as a continuation of biblical action rather than as isolated, post-biblical occurrences.
To demonstrate this point Walmsley uses a graph representing centuries of time which she stitched into a 48-inch square quilted banner entitled “Signature”.  The books of the Bible and highlights of biblical action are plotted on an embroidered time-line that measure from Genesis to the present day. Forty-eight women in the Old Testament whose lives have touched hers are represented by a star on the time-line as well. Mary’s description of this work will provide you with a rare opportunity to see forty centuries of biblical history at a glance and see yourself in relationship to it, a unique and memorable Bible-study lesson.
